✔️ 1. Get an Offer from a UK Institution

Before anything else, you must be accepted by a UK university or college. They will send you a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) — this document is essential for your visa application.

✔️ 2. Prepare the Required Documents

You’ll need to collect these before you start your visa application:

Mandatory documents

  • Valid passport or travel document

  • CAS from your university

  • Proof of course fees payment (or scholarship letter)

  • Proof of money to support yourself (bank statements)

  • English language test results (like IELTS/TOEFL if required)

  • Fill out your personal & immigration details

  • Upload supporting documents

  • Pay the visa fee (around £524 standard)

➡️ Special note: From July 2025 the UK issues digital eVisas (no physical stickers) linked to your UKVI account instead of stickers. You’ll need to set up this account before traveling. British Council+1


✔️ 5. Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)

This is paid during the application.

✔️ 6. Book & Attend Your Biometric Appointment

After submitting:

  • You’ll book an appointment at your closest Visa Application Centre (VAC)

✔️ 8. Before You Travel

Make sure:
✅ You can access your eVisa online (and it’s linked to your passport)
✅ You have proof of CAS, accommodation, funds, and travel plans
✅ You don’t travel without the visa — Border officers will check it. GOV.UK


✔️ 9. After Arrival in the UK

Once you arrive:

  • You may need to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) or just confirm your immigration permission online.

  • Confirm your enrollment with your university.
